What is the material of the raincoat? Why rainproof? The raincoat is made of waterproof fabric, such as tape, linoleum, plastic film, including the new polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) waterproof and breathable composite fabric.

The principle of waterproofing raincoats: The materials and styles of modern raincoats are more and more, but no matter how you change them, raincoats have a property that has never changed, that is, raindrops on raindrops quickly gather into small drops and then flow away. That's why the raincoat is waterproof.

When a drop of liquid falls on a solid surface, the liquid will have two different states depending on the attraction between molecules of different materials and the attraction between molecules in the liquid. When the attraction of the molecules between the liquid and the solid is less than the attraction of the molecules inside the liquid, the droplets will tend to shrink into small droplets on the surface of the solid. When the attractive force of the molecules between the liquid and the solid is greater than the attractive force of the molecules inside the liquid, the droplets tend to lie flat on the solid surface when they are attracted. For the former phenomenon, physicists call it "non-wetting", such as mercury droplets on a glass plate, while the latter phenomenon is called "wetting", such as water droplets on a glass plate. Rain falling on the surface of the raincoat is a non-wetting phenomenon, because the attraction of rubber molecules to water molecules is much smaller than the attraction between water molecules. Water molecules prefer to gather together and roll off the surface of the raincoat. At the same time, the raincoat fabric still has many small holes, but because rainwater does not penetrate into the rubber, it is difficult for water molecules to pass through the raincoat fabric through these small holes, and these small holes cannot play a role. The organization of air molecules ensures the breathability of the raincoat. Since the key to rainproof raincoats lies in the rubber-like fabric surface, when storing raincoats, special care should be taken not to damage the waterproof layer on the fabric surface. There is no need to mention a raincoat from a sharp object. One thing needs special attention. First of all, after washing the raincoat, please try to avoid putting it in the sun to prevent the rubber from aging. Rubber is a polymer material with many atomic groups and unsaturated chemical bonds. It easily reacts with various components in the air, such as oxygen, and this reaction is irreversible. Secondly, when storing the raincoat, do not place grease and other items on it to prevent these substances from contaminating the raincoat. If the raincoat is dirty, it is difficult to wash.
